My absolute favourite Italian restaurant. It has a homely atmosphere and the food is decadent. You dont need to look at the menu. They will advise what has been freshly bought in the day. I love this about the place . You are eating freshly caught fish or freshly picked greens, or red meat that has not been kept frozen. Tip, even though its not in a mainstream area, make an appointment to guarantee your reservation. They tend to get fully booked

La Trinita is one of the best and my most FAVOURITE restaurant to go to. Their service and food is absolutely amazing and I am yet to find another which compares.
They have a personalised touch with everyone who comes to their restaurant and this has not changed in the 6 odd years of frequenting the restaurant. They are just superb !

my wife and I had dinner at this hidden gem last. We had eaten there before, but a few years ago. Let's just compare it to a good a bottle of red wine. It just gets better and better over the years. So few restaurants ever achieve this. They start off with a bang and then slowly decline into deserved oblivion. La Trinita's success must simply be that it is still family owned, From the kitchen to the front of the house, it's all "Italian Mama" and daughter. They are involved in every single aspect of the business and clearly (judging by the quality of the food) proud and passionate about their restaurant.
Onto the food. My wife and shared the "springbok carpaccio". It was generous, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. At R75, unbelievable value and worth a trip to the restaurant on its own.
My wife chose the Melenzane for her main. My wife raved about and after having a taste, had to agree.
I had the "funghi risotto". Brilliant!!! Perfectly cooked, with wild mushroom and basil pesto flavor running through out. You can always judge a restaurant on it's risotto and this is a good one.
Total bill including a bottle of wine, was R515. Superb value.
Service was attentive and efficient.
My advice, forget about fancy pretentious restaurants that fail to deliver and hide behind their exotic locations, and try true Italian cuisine cooked by passionate Italians.
