Food:

This casual eatery, now under new management, serves up pretty but wholesome fare. The cakes and quiches are popular choices. Portions are medium-sized with lots of attention to detail to flavour and plating. Expect smooth purées and edible flowers in season. The linguine puttanesca with white anchovies and the beef short rib pie, when available, are must-haves.

Wine:

SA limited but decent selection.

Service:

Pleasant.

Ambience:

Casual. The plastic crates and communal tables have remained, but a facelift is underway, according to a little birdie.

And...:

The carrot cake is worth the attentive plating alone. Coffee is served in quirky mugs made by a local potter. (IGY, October 2012)
