Being quite a regular at Meat Company, I always an blown away by the consistent quality and deliciousness of the food, the friendliness of the staff, and the great atmosphere at the restaurant. A definite winner for me.

How sad that this restaurant has fallen so hard. For years it has been a staple at Montecasino, offering good old-fashioned steakhouse fare. So naturally when me and my husband were looking for somewhere to eat on a weekday night, we decided we couldn't go wrong with the Meat Company. Well, we were certainly wrong. We greeted by the hostess and we were taken to a table and given menus. The table was almost bare, with not even a napkin in site. The waitress took ages to get to our table and when she did arrive, there was no polite greeting, just a surly "To drink?" Sensing we may be in for a wait, we ordered drinks and mains at once. I ordered the bunless burger which has always been a favourite there. I ordered blue cheese topping. I was brought the bunless burger with undercooked brinjal and pepper sauce on the side. We were in a hurry as we were seeing a movie afterwards, so I thought against sending it back. However, my husband's steak was so rare it was practically blue, after he had ordered it medium. So it had to be sent back to be cooked longer. Good thing a manager came to check on us, because our waitress disappeared the whole time we were there. I see the restaurant was redecorated since last I was there. Their winelist is also impressive. However, perhaps some more care and attention should be given to getting the basics right. Looking forward to when we see The Meat Company go back to its former (good) self.

Service is extremely slow - actually pathetic to say the least. We had to wait 40 minutes for drinks and two hours for our food!! And then when the meat was raw they did not bother trying to return it quickly - I ended up collecting it myself from the kitchen. With many other patrons also complaining about service or walking out it really just made the experience something I would rather forget about. The food is OK but nothing amazing, and the slow service means any mistakes should just be accepted and not asked for to be corrected. We did not bother asking for the correct sauce when the wrong one was serviced - it would not be there before we had finished the meal. All in all I would rather choose another venue. Not delivering what you would expect. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

This is a know what you get - always good, if not outstanding. Always a good choice.

20/01/2017 evening, we were a table of 5 Service was slow Food preparation was a big problem Especially ordered on cold plates 2 sirloins - ordered med/rare, served medium 1 T bone - ordered med/rare, served medium 1 burger - ordered med/rare, served medium On complaining to waiter, we were told that the steaks were med/rare. We insisted on seeing the manager, who said he would replace with med/rare. We had already waited a long time to get our meal, so only 2 were sent back. These came back when everyone else had finished. They were tough and sub standard. What a let down for our guests from England and ourselves. We will not be eating at The Meat Company again as this was our 4th bad experience. A pity, as we used to eat there at least twice a month.
