Wow, did this place go backwards! Used to be my favourite! Had dinner there on Friday night, 9 Aug. Received wrong order as well as one other dodgy seafood stew with white albany toast, they call a bruschetta! Poor service as well with 2 items out of stock on dessert menu, one being ice cream! I mailed their office (they have a website), no response!

Please note that this review is for the Knysna branch. Treat yourself to something special when visiting Cornuti at The Heads! Try the fish in the tinfoil. Simply out of the world and probably the best fish dish I have had!

The prices at this restaurant are comparable to the highest in the country. Yet the service and ambience is absolutely third rate. We were the only table occupied and yet we had to get up and ask for beverage service and again to order. The kitchen staff were extremely noisy - shouting and screaming and throwing crockery and cutlery around. The waiter insisted on speaking only Afrikaans when it was clear that we were English speaking. The manager refused to divulge the contact details of the owner and was clearly not interested in listening to our complaints. This restaurant used to be very good value and a pleasant dining experience. It certainly no longer qualifies in that category and will probably not be in existance for much longer. Good riddens!

We enjoyed lunch at Cornuti on an unusually quiet afternoon. Service good, views breath taking. Had the avo and bacon salad starter - divine. Good wine liste - had the Sangiovese. Excellent prawn pastas. Desserts were adequate. Recommended!

Cornutti was our third attempt at finding somewhere half decent to eat in Plett on 5 January. Acknowledgment required walking up to one of the waiters - they would have ignored us otherwise. Having ascertained that they had space, we were denied a bigger table that would have allowed better isolation for the sleeping baby we had with us. Instead, we were seated next to the preferred bigger table where we could see it standing empty for the rest of the evening. While our first round of drinks arrived soon enough and our orders were taken quite soon thereafter, getting a second round of drinks to the table did involve getting up to go speak to two different managers who still failed to get the message to our waitress. I had to get up, see, because attempts to hail a waiter more than once saw them turn their heads in another direction so they would not have to deal with me - yes it was that bad! When out of desperation I clapped my hands to attract the attention of one of the managers, she pulled a terrible face. Yet, having explained the problem probably about thrice over, I have yet to hear an apology for how we were ignored. Any case, once the food arrived, things went a bit better. We had all manner of seafood pastas and they all were exquisite, but not more so than we could have prepared at home or have had at one of numerous other fantastic restaurants all over the country, where good service is not a luxury, but a given. I'd go self-catering if I ever went to Plett again.
