We had dinner here on Saturday night. Quite simply, the best meal Ive ever had anywhere. Absolutely stunning, and Cheryline our waitress for the night deserves the same praise. Wonderful, we will be back.

Owner's description
Set in a converted house in central Franschhoek, the atmosphere at Le Bon Vivant is homely and relaxed, while reminiscent of contemporary French restaurants. The glass wall allows you to see Pierre Hendriks and his team at work. Tables are also available in the shaded garden next to the restaurant for lunch and dinner on warm summer evenings.

Wed eaten at most of the better restaurants in Franschhoek, or so we thought! We booked a table for nine at Le Bon Vivant, and had a wonderful evening. The food was great - we really enjoyed our 5 course tasting menu - and the service was very good! We received a call the next day from our waiter, Cheryline, as she wanted to correct a mistake on the bill which we had not noticed. Such service has to be commended!

This restaurant can compete with the best restaurants in Europe.Based on my diners a few weeks ago I was quite surprised to find this excellent restaurant in a small place like Franschhoek. The quality of the food, the presentation of it on the plate and the friendly and superb service made these diners one of the highpoints of the holiday of my companion and me. It is a pity that not more people can enjoy the cooking of this kitchenmaster than some tourists that travel through this place

This is the best restaurant we have been to in SA.The food is excellent, the service really good.Weve had the 5 course surprise menu including the wines, and everything really matched and the portions were not too much or too little. Delicious!!!In Europe we have the Michellin Stars (3 stars is the most) and this restaurant really deserves a star (and maybe 2).
