French toast

The eternal breakfast winner.

Serves: 4

Ingredients

250g (1 packet) streaky bacon
4 jumbo free-range eggs
a pinch of nutmeg
8 slices of bread
a dollop of butter

Method

Grill or fry the bacon until crisp. Keep warm. Whisk the eggs, milk and a pinch of nutmeg. Soak the bread in the egg mixture (you’ll have to do this in batches). Heat a dollop of butter in a pan and fry the bread until golden on both sides. Serve topped with sliced bananas, crispy bacon and maple syrup.
