What a shame you cut out Asian restaurants outside of the three cities. Indochine at Delaire Graff made your Top 20 Restaurant list last year. Genki in Stellenbosch also comes highly recommended.
That’s a good point, Chris. Only restaurants in the major cities were categorised according to cuisine (i.e. Asian) in the magazine, while the others in far-flung places were arranged by town. However, the Asian restaurants among these deserve inclusion too. We’ll amend this list now.
I can not believe So Yum in Hyde Park in not in the Johannesburg mix. Having lived in Hong Kong the home of Dim Sum and can honestly recommend So Yum’s Dim Sum very highly and their speciality the Hong Kong Pear is still my favourite on the menu. Not crazy about the crispy wontons and dim sum pieces like the money parcels (too dry) but the steamed dim sum and wonton soup is really great and worth the try.
Kitimas in Hout Bay is undoubtetly the BEST!
